On the left is an example of the puzzle boundary being too big. This boundary is also used to create the screenshot that will show up in the Workshop for what you are uploading. Even if you are just making a contraption, you should make sure the boundary fits snug around everything. Once you decide to publish, you are given one last chance to confirm your puzzle boundaries. They don't have a goal, and aren't meant to be solved by a player. Contraptions are for just showing something cool. Puzzles have a goal and only specific parts in the parts bin. You can choose to share it as either a puzzle or a contraption. They cannot place any parts in the black area.Ĭlick the "share" button on a contraption to share it to the Steam Workshop. On the right is the same puzzle in Play Mode (how other people will play it). On the left, you can see what the puzzle boundary looks like while you are in Make Mode. You can place some scenery pieces partially out of bounds to make your background look more complete. Try not to place parts of your puzzle beyond the bounds, because that makes for a frustrating puzzle. This helps set the bounds of your puzzle without having to box in your whole contraption with walls. You can place things outside of the boundary, but the player will not be able to see or place anything outside of it. Resize Puzzle: This sets the playable area for your puzzle.Music: This is where you will set the music for your contraption. You can then try to solve your puzzle like everyone else will have to. This will lock down all of your locked parts, and put all of your unlocked parts into the parts bin. Background Color: Change the background color of your contraption.
